OSAGE BEACH, Mo. – A new $300 million family resort and entertainment facility are in the works near the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
As reported by KRGC-TV, Oasis at Lakeport is the brainchild of Skyview Partners and Tegethoff Development and will include a boardwalk, marina, a 200-foot-tall observation wheel, roller coasters, and an amphitheater.
In a released statement, developers say they want the project to be “different from anything Missouri has ever seen.”
Todd Schneider, the co-managing partner of Skyview Partners, notes the park has been seven years in the making, and it will be something to draw people to the area the entire year.
“Someone that might not be familiar with the Lake of the Ozarks will see that there’s a new amusement park, and they’ll make the journey to come down there and see it. When they’re there, they’ll potentially stay offsite, they’ll eat offsite, get to know the lake, maybe buy a place down there, and come back again,” he told KRGC-TV.
To ensure the park can be open in any season, advanced heating and cooling technology will be implemented. According to a news release about the project, it is expected it will create 500 jobs and attract more than 500,000 visitors a year.
Construction on the project is expected to begin next year, with a targeted opening date of Memorial Day 2024.
