BATON ROUGE, La. – Origin Hotel Baton Rouge, a boutique hotel with 89 rooms, is set to open in the city in November.

As reported by Baton Rouge Advocate, the property was previously a Holiday Inn Express, which opened in 2015. Previously it had been a savings and loans business and a charter high school.

In the article, hotel general manager Braylon Hyde says with the hotel’s central location, “authentic” food and beverage options, and a “focus on local partnerships,” they are striving to be the “crown jewel of the Capital City.”

“We look forward to introducing our boutique lifestyle hotel to Baton Rouge and providing guests with the unmatched comfort and hospitality that comes with staying at an Origin Hotel property,” Hyde told The Advocate.

Per the article, the property was purchased for $7 million by the Baton Rouge Hotel Group LLC, based in Hattiesburg, Mass.

The Origin brand operates under Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. It currently has other hotels in Texas in Austin, Texas; Red Rock and Westminster in Colorado; and Lexington, Kyl., with plans for new properties in Atlanta and Kansas City, Mo.
