On the boundary between the state’s rolling woodlands and the flat, agricultural plains of the Mississippi River Delta, Pine Bluff is featured on several historic heritage trails, with sites important to the Trail of Tears, Civil War, civil rights, and the blues.
The Freedom & Blues Experience includes sites and experiences significant to the civil rights movement and to Pine Bluff’s role in the early days of blues music. The Delta Civil Rights Legacy Trail has more than 20 stops of historic significance, and there are 58 structures on the National Register of Historic Places downtown, according to Explore Pine Bluff. The organization can create custom tours for groups.
The Pine Bluff Convention Center has a 1,844-seat theater, a 14,400-square-foot banquet and exhibit hall, and a 7,600-seat arena. A 125-room Courtyard by Marriott is expected to be built adjacent to the center.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites at Pines Mall has 80 guest rooms and a 2,000-square-foot meeting room. Offsite venues include ART WORKS and ARTSpace on Main, with a 240-seat theater, classrooms, galleries, and outdoor spaces; John Fallis Waterfront Meeting Facility, with a 165-person event capacity; Sahara Shrine Center, with space for 400 guests; and Saracen Landing, with small meeting rooms, a small amphitheater, and a 10,080-square-foot pavilion.
