PETERSBURG, Fla.—SkyBeach Resort, a historic beachfront property on the southern-most tip of St.Petersburg, Fla., has finished a series of new enhancements, including a renovated lobby, the new SkyBeach Event Center, and the addition of Paradeco Coffee Roasters.
Designed by Charleston Bay Interiors, the coastal-inspired, 6,260-square-foot SkyBeach Event Center is a versatile meeting space for various occasions. It features a 544-square-foot lobby, the 4,228-square-foot Grand Ballroom for up to 250 guests, and Coral Cove, the second-largest room, offering a more intimate setting. The Grand Ballroom comprises three smaller rooms— Banyan Tree, Royal Palm, and Ocean Breeze—which can be used individually. Guests can access the event center from the main lobby or via an exterior entrance in front of the resort.
“It was an honor to bring the vision for SkyBeach Resort’s lobby and event spaces to life,” says Jen Kravchuk, principal designer and owner of Charleston Bay Interiors. “The renovation reflects the property’s new direction, blending a relaxed coastal atmosphere with a modern, elevated aesthetic. Every detail was designed to complement the resort’s playful energy and stunning waterfront setting, creating a welcoming yet refined environment for guests.”
In addition to the event center, the new lobby echoes the coastal ambience of the event center, with soft blues, neutral tones, and warm wood finishes. Three different seating areas are framed with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves to evoke the feeling of being in a living room. A custom accent wall features hand-applied authentic Venetian plaster, created by St. Petersburg artist Jesse Wilhelm of JW Murals.
Paradeco Coffee Roasters, the downtown St. Petersburg café, opened its second location in the SkyBeach Resort’s courtyard, offering the same menu. Paradeco specializes in single-origin coffee sourced from micro-lots and women-owned farms in Colombia, Peru, Ethiopia, and Guatemala, and roasted in-house. Visitors can enjoy signature drinks like the Cold Fashioned, a bold blend of cold brew, Vermont maple syrup, orange bitters, angostura bitters, oat milk, and an orange-infused ice block, and Maple Cinny Latte, made with Vermont maple syrup. The resort will also introduce an upscale restaurant, SouthSeas Tapas, later this year.
Originally built in the 1950s, the historic 18-acre property was acquired in 2022 by Willner Realty and Development Company (WRDC). It reopened as SkyBeach Resort in 2024 after a major renovation, including redesigned guest rooms and several amenities.
