
NEW ORLEANS—The Pontchartrain Hotel has appointed Nickolas Thomas as general manager. Thomas will oversee day-to-day management and strategic direction of the historic 106-room property in New Orleans’ Garden District.
With more than 20 years of experience, Thomas brings a strong track record in hotel operations and guest services. Previously, Thomas served as director of rooms at the four-star Hyatt Centric French Quarter in New Orleans, where he managed multi-departmental teams and had a key role in driving operations. He also had leadership roles at Sleep Inn Slidell, Hyatt Place Convention Center, and Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans.
“I’m thrilled to join The Pontchartrain Hotel team and bring my deep experience working with hotels across New Orleans to this iconic Garden District property,” says Thomas. “I look forward to continuing to deliver top-notch guest experiences while celebrating and honoring the storied history that makes this hotel a beloved favorite for locals and travelers alike.”
Steeped in history, The Pontchartrain Hotel is known as the birthplace of The New Orleans Saints NFL team and was a favorite haunt among Hollywood legends like Tennessee Williams and Frank Sinatra. The hotel boasts award-winning dining, elegant guest rooms and suites, and easy access to the “Crescent City.”
