Lafourche Parish venues include the Warren J. Harang Auditorium, which features a 10,094-square-foot main area and 7,018 square feet of flexible space, and the Thibodaux Regional Conference Center, which accommodates up to 400 people.
The Larose Civic Center has four event spaces, including a pavilion that can host up to 500 in classroom seating and 900 in theater-style seating. Other components include a gymnasium seating up to 460 theater style and 800 for banquets. The Bayou Region Incubator has five meeting rooms for small groups.
Hotels with function space include the Hampton Inn & Suites, featuring 109 guest rooms and more than 620 square feet of event space, and Holiday Inn Express by IHG, which has 82 rooms and an event room accommodating up to 62 participants.
Lafourche Parish’s network of bayous, swamps, and Gulf of Mexico access supports teambuilding and recreational opportunities. Zam’s Swamp Tours in tiny Kraemer operates an ecological park with such wildlife as alligators, snapping turtles, and nutrias, followed by guided swamp tours. Reservations are needed. Fishing charters are available both offshore and inshore, with lists of recommended charters provided on the Cajun Bayou CVB website. Sites for cultural and historical visits include Laurel Valley Village and Jean Lafitte Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center.
After so much adventure, it’s time to eat like a Cajun. A big favorite, Spahr’s, has three locations in the parish and is known for its “catfish chips,” gumbo, and Bloody Marys. In the tiny town of Cut Off, Cheramie’s extensive menu covers everything from seafood platters to pasta.
