According to Wichita Falls CVB director Lindsay Lewis, Wichita Falls offers an authentic Texas experience with the convenience and hospitality of a mid-sized city. “That makes us both memorable and easy to love. We have a genuine sense of community and collaboration, a revitalized historic district, and a walkable downtown anchored by the Multi-Purpose Events Center (MPEC) and the connected Delta Hotels by Marriott Convention Center.”
The six-block Depot Square Historic District is a landmark from the boom days of oil discovery and turn-of-the-century railroad development, Lewis adds. “Venturing onto the red brick road of Depot Square, visitors can walk to family-owned and independent restaurants, urban wineries, a brewery, retail shops, entertainment, museums, and more. For those who prefer driving, there’s free parking located throughout downtown.”
MPEC, the largest event space in town, features 57,141 square feet of exhibit space, 10 breakout rooms, and a 216-seat seminar room. Part of the MPEC campus, the Kay Yeager Coliseum features 6,500 permanent seats. The campus also includes five acres of green space for concerts and other events. In addition, the attached Delta Hotels by Marriott offers 200 guest rooms and 29,40 square feet of function space.
Additional hotels with event space include the newly opened Hampton Inn by Hilton Wichita Falls North, with 92 guest rooms and a small meeting room; 93-room Courtyard by Marriott–Wichita Falls, with 4,160 square feet of meeting space; and 80-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites–Wichita Falls, with 4,848 square feet of function space. There are more than 2,200 guest rooms throughout the city.
