The board of directors of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) have placed the group’s CEO on leave as it investigates misconduct allegations against Scott Solombrino.
The allegations were raised to the board in an anonymous letter, allegedly signed by former and current GBTA staff.
Among others misdeeds, the letter accused Solombrino of claiming excessive expenses and making derogatory comments, specifically against minorities and women.
The allegations were made in early June, and after an internal review, the board announced via a statement it was having an independent, third party coming in to continue the review.
“We have determined that further investigation is required in this matter. We have taken this step to affirm that this inquiry has the necessary depth, that the reviewer has sufficient time to consider and corroborate facts and statements, and to give any and all concerned parties an opportunity to come forward,” the statement reads.
