COLUMBIA, S.C. – Experience Columbia SC (ECSC) has named a new vice president to its executive team.
Danna Lilly will serve as the vice president of the local convention and visitors bureau (DBA Experience Columbia SC) and is responsible for the leadership and management of the meetings and conventions sales team for the Columbia region, as well as the local visitors center. Lilly served in this role during an interim period and is now making a permanent transition.
“We are extremely excited to have Danna leading our CVB team,” said Bill Ellen, ECSC president and CEO. “Danna’s previous destination management organization experience has prepared her to take Experience Columbia SC to new successes and her relationships and respect throughout our industry is a huge asset.”
Lilly is an accomplished tourism professional with more than 30 years’ experience in the industry and is a Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration (HRTA) graduate from the University of South Carolina. She has held several leadership roles in the industry including convention sales manager at Kingston Plantation Resorts, director of sales at Visit Myrtle Beach, and executive director of Meet in South Carolina. Also, as proprietor of End-N-Mind Destination and Event Management, she provided business development and event management services for the meeting, convention, and golf industries. Lilly first joined the ECSC team in January 2021, beginning with a sales manager role at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center before transitioning over to the CVB later that year.
“This city has held a special place in my heart for as long as I can remember,” Lilly said. “From traveling to and from football games and state fairs as a child, to beloved college days at UofSC followed by years of visiting with South Carolina association execs during my time in the hotel business–all roads have led to the heart of South Carolina. I’m thrilled and honored to lead this team in driving economic impact to benefit the entire Columbia region.”
