ADAIRSVILLE, Ga.—Renovations and upgrades are underway at Barnsley Resort, operated by Davidson Resorts, one of the South’s most lauded destinations. This multifaceted venture will entail a reimagined interior design and renovation of the cottage guest rooms and suites, transformation of the Beer Garden restaurant, addition of pickleball courts, and more.
These expansions amplify an already significant year, as 2024 also marks the resort’s 25th anniversary celebration. This renovation plan was facilitated through South Street Partners, which partnered with the longstanding ownership to guide Barnsley Resort through its next chapter of growth.
All 39 free-standing cottages—a hallmark of the Barnsley Resort experience—are currently undergoing a $6.2 million remodel by Charlotte Lucas Design, a Charlotte-based interior design firm known for its bold use of color and whimsical detail. The cottages are scheduled for completion this fall. Complementing the newly renovated cottages, additional enhancements already underway include the addition of a new beer garden in the resort village. This new resort centerpiece will boast a two-sided stacked stone fireplace and a covered pavilion, allowing guests to enjoy the al fresco setting rain or shine.
The resort also will expand its recreational activities with the addition of six new pickleball courts. The courts, set to debut in late summer, will offer leisure and competitive play, including teambuilding options for groups.
