The Lake Charles Event Center features 83,260 square feet of event space, including the James E. Suddeth Memorial Coliseum, which seats 7,500 people; The Rosa Theatre, which has 1,960 fixed seats and exhibition space for up to 1,400 people; and West Cal Arena & Event Center in Sulphur, which can host a capacity of 1,200 for theater seating in its largest space.
Hotels with event space include the 1,100-room Golden Nugget Lake Charles, which features more than 30,000 square feet of meeting space, including an 18,000-square-foot event center. L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles has 1,000 guest rooms and can host up to 1,402 guests seated theater style in its largest space. The resort recently renovated its event space and guest rooms. Horseshoe Casino & Hotel Lake Charles features 252 guest rooms and can host a capacity of 290 people in its largest space.
Hotels under renovation include Candlewood Suites and Wyndham Lake Charles, formerly Holiday Inn & Suites – Lake Street. New venues include Mason Amie, a large country estate-style setting for weddings and corporate retreats. Chadwater, another new venue, offers event space and overnight accommodations.
New restaurants on the scene include Salt Revival Oyster Company, which opened in 2024, and Crying Eagle Brewing Company – Lakefront and Augustine, a fine-dining restaurant.
