The South continues to lead the nation in hotel development—which is exciting news for planners considering Southern locations for their upcoming meetings and events.
According to the Q3 2025 U.S. Hotel Construction Pipeline Trend Report by Lodging Econometrics (LE), 490 new hotels with 57,479 rooms opened in the United States during the first three quarters of 2025. In the South, Dallas leads the nation in new hotel rooms, with 197 projects (24,310 rooms) in development, followed by Atlanta (160 projects/18,239 rooms); Nashville, Tenn. (130 projects/17,183 rooms); and Austin, Texas (124 projects/14,486 rooms). For meeting and event planners, the surge of newly opened, renovated, and rebranded hotels across the South brings an exciting wave of fresh possibilities. Packed with modern amenities, stylish design, and cutting-edge technology, these properties set the stage for unforgettable events and elevated attendee experiences.
As we close out another dynamic year, ConventionSouth proudly presents its annual New or Renovated Awards.
