CEDAR PARK, Texas—The Cedar Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center has appointed Juan Flores as general manager and Stephanie Shives as director of sales and marketing ahead of the hotel’s anticipated spring 2027 opening.
The 297-room property, developed by Indianapolis-based Prime Hospitality Group, will feature more than 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space, bringing a new full-service hospitality and gathering destination to the Austin metropolitan area.
“Juan and Stephanie bring a wealth of experience in hotel operations, sales and hospitality leadership, making them an ideal team to guide the Cedar Park Marriott toward its opening,” says Michael Moros, chief operating officer at Prime Hospitality Group. “Their expertise will be invaluable as we establish the property as a leading destination for meetings, events and leisure travel while building strong connections within the Cedar Park and Greater Austin communities.”
Flores has more than 25 years of hospitality experience, including more than two decades with Valencia Hotel Group. He has helped open 11 hotels throughout his career and will oversee the Cedar Park Marriott’s pre-opening operations, including staffing, financial performance, operational readiness, and guest experience.
Flores’ previous leadership positions include roles at Hotel Sorella CityCentre in Houston, Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio, and Plaza San Antonio Hotel & Spa. During his tenure at Plaza San Antonio, he helped the property earn Marriott’s 2024 Mina Award for renovation excellence.
Shives has 20 years of hospitality experience and established relationships throughout the Austin market. She will lead the property’s pre-opening sales and marketing efforts, focusing on corporate clients, meeting planners, event organizers, and leisure travel partners across central Texas.
Most recently, Shives served as director of sales and marketing at Hotel Van Zandt in downtown Austin under Sage Hospitality Group. Her previous experience includes sales leadership positions with White Lodging and Marriott International, overseeing business development and sales initiatives for Marriott-branded hotels in Austin, as well as in Tampa and Clearwater, Fla. She was named White Lodging’s 2022 Sales Leader of the Year and has held leadership positions with the Global Business Travel Association, including vice president of its Austin chapter. She is also a member of the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce’s 26th Leadership Cedar Park cohort.
Located at 2155 Cedarview Drive, approximately 20 miles northwest of downtown Austin and 30 miles from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), the hotel will offer three F&B outlets, an expansive fitness center, a terrace pool, and a Marriott M Club lounge.
The hotel will anchor CedarView, a mixed-use development featuring retail, dining, entertainment, and residential offerings. Located adjacent to the H-E-B Center, a multipurpose indoor arena, the development will also include Nebraska Furniture Mart and Scheels, along with additional restaurants and a multifamily community.
