Austin Convention Center: In the Middle of It All

Austin, Texas, is a hotspot for events, and the Austin Convention Center in the heart of the downtown business district, is the go-to venue. With renowned restaurants, iconic music spots, and over 12,000 hotel rooms within a 1-mile radius, it’s the ideal location for gatherings. The facility holds a LEED® Gold certification and Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, making it a top choice for event planners.

Spanning six city blocks, the Austin Convention Center boasts 374,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space. Noteworthy features include five column-free exhibit halls totaling 247,052 square feet, two expansive ballrooms up to 40,510 square feet in size, 54 meeting rooms, and convenient parking with 1,700 spaces in two garages.

In this tech-driven era, the center leads the way with complimentary Wi-Fi for over 20,000 devices simultaneously, eliminating connectivity hassles. Video walls aid wayfinding and client messaging, complemented by a dedicated 24/7 network support team, ensuring a seamless event experience.

Connected to the community like the rhythm of its live music culture, the Austin Convention Center is surrounded by walkway-connected hotels. This includes the 800-room Hilton Austin, and The Fairmont Austin – the largest Fairmont property in North America with 1,048 rooms.

Customer satisfaction is paramount, evident in the center’s remarkable 100% customer survey rating to host future events at the venue again. Impressively, 90% of services are managed in-house, from housekeeping to IT, fostering a service-first culture.

Culinary delights await with the catering team’s commitment to local ingredients. Over 90% of the menu, featuring favorites like street-style tacos and Tex-Mex, is prepared in-house.

Excitingly, the Austin Convention Center is in the design stage of a project to double in size. Anticipated to commence in 2025, the renovation and expansion plan includes building closure, demolition, and construction, with the grand reopening expected in 2029.
