DALLAS, Texas – Fairmont Dallas is welcoming back David Sher as general manager after previously serving as director of operations at the property from 2015 to 2020.
He joins the hotel’s leadership team after most recently serving as the general manager of Fairmont Pittsburgh.
“During my more than 25 years in hospitality, I’ve had the pleasure of working in luxury hotels, restaurants, and entrepreneurial venues in multiple cities and countries,” Sher says. “I am thrilled to return to Dallas, to the first Fairmont hotel in the state of Texas, as general manager. This property is as rich in talent as it is in history, and I look forward to leading the team into a successful 2023 and beyond.”
Sher brings a great deal of industry background and experience to the hotel, including completion of Accor’s International Management Hospitality program in 2019. According to a media release, “The program provided networking opportunities with stellar hospitality professionals, key insights from the decades of success and unparalleled hospitality offered by Accor properties, and resulted in Sher elevating his thinking about hospitality.”
“David is a very strong executive who repeatedly delivers strong business results,” Mark Huntley, regional vice president of the Mid-Atlantic, U.S.A., for Accor. “He will bring a fresh perspective to the Fairmont Dallas, one of the most iconic hotels in Dallas.”
Fairmont Dallas is located in the Dallas Arts District, featuring 545 guest rooms, a rooftop terrace complete with a garden and junior Olympic-sized pool, and 70,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is home to the Pyramid Restaurant and an onsite Starbucks on the lobby level.
