Wisconsin Dells, Wis—Kalahari Resorts and Conventions announced on June 15, 2016 that it will open its first property in the Southwest in Round Rock, Texas, a city with a population of 105,000 and located 15 miles north of Austin, Texas. This new location will be similar to existing Kalahari resorts with an authentic African theme, up to 1,000 guest rooms, indoor and outdoor waterparks, restaurants, a family entertainment center, spa and convention center.
In the press release, owner Todd Nelson stated, “We are incredibly excited to bring our authentically African resort experience to the Southwest for the first time. The city of Round Rock has been incredibly welcoming, and we look forward to finalizing plans to officially become a part of this great community.”
Round Rock Mayor, Alan McGraw stated “We are thrilled Kalahari has chosen Round Rock for its first expansion into the Southwest. This game-changing project will be a great benefit to our community, continuing our efforts to diversify the local economy.
