A suburb of Orlando but a popular destination in its own right, Kissimmee is home to one million square feet of meeting space, more than 25,000 guest rooms, and nearly 300 meeting venues. “We are just 25 minutes from Orlando International Airport and minutes from famous theme parks, outdoor adventures, great dining, and entertainment,” says Michelle Moore, senior director, meetings sales and services for Experience Kissimmee. “Kissimmee makes it easy to create buzzworthy event itineraries that take meetings to the next level.”
According to Experience Kissimmee, Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate recently opened a new tower, bringing the total number of guest rooms to 1,005. Also, the resort added Sunset Terrace, a 9,906-square-foot event lawn with artificial turf and walkways. In total, the resort has 100,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor conference center space, including the new 6,500-square-foot Grand Salon ballroom and a wave pool. In February, Eagles Edge at ChampionsGate opened, providing groups with 30 state-of-the-art hitting bays, along with indoor and outdoor event space. With adjoining mini golf and a lighted nine-hole course, Eagles Edge can accommodate 1,000 event guests.
The planned 2025 opening of EPIC Universe at Universal Orlando Resort is big news, Moore notes. “Just a few miles from Universal Orlando’s current offerings, Epic Universe will feature breathtaking, multi-sensory environments and innovative technology, creating an entirely new level of experience that will forever change theme park entertainment,” she says. “Epic Universe will also be adjacent to three new Universal hotels, co-owned and operated by Loews Hotels & Co., including Universal Stella Nova Resort, Universal Terra Luna Resort, and Universal Helios Grand Hotel, located inside the park.”
Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center has 1,718 guest rooms and more than 500,000 square feet of meeting space, a 178,500-square-foot exhibit hall, a three-acre water park, and a four-and-a-half-acre glass atrium with three themed gardens. Other major convention hotels include Embassy Suites Orlando Lake Buena Vista South, with 300 suites and 40,000 square feet of total event space; Margaritaville Resort Orlando, with 265 guest rooms and 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event spaces; and Reunion Resort, with 320 villas and suites and 25,000 square feet of function space plus three signature golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Tom Watson. Celebration Hotel is suitable for smaller meetings or events, with 115 guest rooms and 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
