Approximately an hour from either Cincinnati or Lexington, Maysville is an Ohio River town with a historic downtown. Old Washington is a frontier village dating back to the 1780s, with log homes and Georgian-style townhouses. Nearby, the family-owned Old Pogue Distillery has been making bourbon and whiskey since 1876. The Landing at Limestone entertainment district occupies a historically significant riverfront area believed to be where Kentucky’s first barrels of bourbon were shipped down the Ohio River.
Downtown’s 1886 Cox Building is the town’s main event facility, according to VisitMaysvilleKY.com. It has three event spaces, including a 2,600-square-foot ballroom seating 200 guests. Additional venues include the 500-seat Washington Opera House, the 700-seat Russell Theatre, and the 93-room Hampton Inn Maysville, which has one small meeting room.
