S.P.O.R.T.S. 2015 Kicks Off In Shreveport-Bossier City LA

The Sports Events industry’s unique annual meeting know as “The Relationship Conference” kicked off a busy four day agenda on Monday, October 5th in Shreveport-Bossier City, Louisiana. Registration was underway all day long at the Shreveport Convention Center for S.P.O.R.T.S. 2015, as delegates from across North America gathered to make connections for their events and venue sites.

The conference is managed and hosted by Sports Events Media Group, publishers of SportsEvents Magazine. The national magazine is a sister publication of ConventionSouth Magazine.
The event’s limited attendee capacity and intimate format have made it a popular annual conference for planners, sports groups seeking sites and tournament and sports tourism leaders. Open, free flowing sessions like “The Solution Room” and the “Town Hall Meeting” offer a give and take format among experienced industry peers. Among the most energetic and results-oriented sessions are a series of timed 15 minute one-on-one appointment periods. Four of these sessions — lasting a total of two hours in length each — are spread across the Tuesday and Wednesday conference agenda.

Group Publisher Talty O’Connor (at right) said, “Our formula for genuine relationship building starts with the necessity of having a manageable audience. We’ve closed registration and had a waiting list of attendees for the past four years. We maintain a ratio of about 2.5 destination/venue attendees to one event organizer. Next, we only schedule meaningful 15-minute appointments that must be pre-approved by both sides of the table. We also have intimate group sessions like town hall meetings where attendees share concerns, ideas and solutions with each other.”
