WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla.—Saddlebrook Resort recently unveiled a $92 million renovation that reimagines the storied 480-acre property as a modern destination for leisure travelers, athletes, and groups seeking large-scale meeting and event capabilities.
The overhaul updates nearly every corner of the resort, long known for its championship golf, elite tennis training, and international sports programs. The redesign includes refreshed accommodations, new dining venues, enhanced meeting spaces, and a transformed golf experience led by architect Rees Jones.
“This remarkable transformation unveils the Saddlebrook of the future, where legendary sport and modern luxury come together seamlessly,” says Camilo Miguel Jr., founder and CEO of Mast Capital, which owns the resort in partnership with Amzak Capital. “We’ve reintroduced Saddlebrook not just as a resort, but as a world-class destination that speaks to today’s global traveler and the next generation of athletes.”
Saddlebrook has placed major emphasis on expanding its group and corporate offerings. The resort now features more than 200,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including two renovated ballrooms, the Royal Palm and Pegasus, both designed for flexible configurations.
Additionally, 40,000 square feet of meeting rooms have been updated with modern lighting, carpeting, digital signage, and high-speed connectivity. Outdoors, 175,000 square feet of gathering areas range from poolside terraces to the Fountain Courtyard, and a professionally designed 60-yard sports field doubles as a space for teambuilding and activations.
The resort also introduced a new Play-by-Play Sports Broadcasting Experience, allowing groups to work with professional broadcasters and step behind the mic. The hands-on program is tailored to corporate retreats and teambuilding events, drawing on Saddlebrook’s long history as a training ground for athletes, including Pete Sampras, Martina Hingis, and Alex Zverev.
Across its 451 rooms and suites, Saddlebrook Resort now offers refreshed layouts suited to families, business travelers, and extended-stay guests. Rooms feature warm wood tones, soft neutrals, and navy accents, with each accommodation opening to a private patio or balcony overlooking the fairways or nature preserve.
Four dining venues anchor the resort’s updated culinary program. RARE 1981, the new signature restaurant, highlights Gulf Coast flavors with such dishes as mojo-glazed shrimp skewers and dry-aged cowboy steak. BREW, an all-day café, is located in the renovated lobby, while Palmhaus serves poolside cocktails and small plates adjacent to the 500,000-gallon Super Pool. Set to debut soon, a new sports tavern will feature communal seating, oversized screens, and elevated pub fare.
The resort’s golf experience has been reshaped with the first phases of a redesign that converts the former Palmer and Saddlebrook courses into three 9-hole layouts: Pine, Oak, and Cypress.
“We are very pleased to have completed the first and second phases redesigning and reimagining the quality golf facilities at Saddlebrook Resort,” says Rees Jones, celebrated golf course architect. “Saddlebrook now has a world-class practice facility and a completely re-envisioned 18 holes.”
The property’s athletics program remains central to its identity, with 41 tennis courts—including all four Grand Slam surfaces—eight pickleball courts, a fitness center, and a planned Padel complex. The Professional Tennis Registry and Professional Pickleball Registry established their global headquarters on property in 2024.
The iconic Super Pool has been redesigned with cabanas, new landscaping, and a large-scale mural by Miami illustrator Gabriela Benatar. The setting joins a growing list of amenities aimed at both leisure travelers and corporate groups seeking outdoor gathering space.
