Shreveport-Bossier City, two municipalities located on opposite sides of the Red River, comprise the largest metropolitan area in north Louisiana. Accessible by car via Interstate 20 and 49, and by air at Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV), the region also boasts 10,000 hotel rooms and numerous meeting venue options.
Shreveport Convention Center features 350,000 square feet of event space and accommodates a capacity of 8,638 for theater seating in its largest space. Additional event space and 311 guest rooms are available at the adjacent Hilton Shreveport.
Area casino resorts with ample guest rooms and event space include Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino Shreveport, which features 16,400 square feet of event space. The venue’s largest space is a 13,200-square-foot meeting room that can accommodate up to 2,500 guests for receptions and other events. The space also divides into as many as eight smaller spaces. Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel features 403 guest rooms and offers 12,800 square feet of event space.
Across the river in Bossier City, the 550-room Live! Casino & Hotel opened earlier this year. It has 25,000 square feet of event space and can accommodate 1,170 seated guests. The 600-room Horseshoe Bossier City offers six versatile event spaces, including the 11,522-square-foot Riverdome, which can seat up to 1,400 people theater style.
Other venue options in the area include Bossier Civic Center, which features a 24,000-square-foot convention and exhibit hall; the 14,000-seat Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier City; and the beautifully restored Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, where a young Elvis Presley performed before hitting the big time. It features a 6,300-square-foot arena and accommodates up to 3,024 people.
