Indian River County provides a blend of charm and history, says Ben Earman, vice president of tourism and marketing at Visit Indian River County. “Vero Beach blends posh hotels, swanky boutiques, and fine restaurants on a pristine 26-mile coastline with no high-rises; Fellsmere is a rural utopia with undeveloped wildlands and natural habitats; and Sebastian is a lively riverfront town with festivals, local restaurants, parks, museums, and other attractions,” Earman says.
Recent openings in the county include Celebration Grove, with an event hall and outdoor spaces; and upgrades at Vero Beach Heritage Center, with additional event areas to accommodate 220 guests.
McKee Botanical Garden, one of Florida’s first botanical roadside attractions, offers teambuilding opportunities, as well as meeting rooms and event space.
The county has 2,452 guest rooms in 37 properties and can accommodate groups of 300. Larger hotels include Vero Beach Inn & Suites, with 117 guest rooms and 5,581 square feet of event space; and Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa, with 23,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting & event space, including the beach and pool deck.”
Historic Dodgertown, once a baseball spring-training location and now home to the Jackie Robinson Training Complex, has 89 guest rooms and a variety of meeting and event spaces for 150 guests, plus a dining hall and playing facilities. Vero Beach Museum of Art has an event capacity of 300. Waxlax Center for the Performing Arts has an 800-seat main theater and banquet capacity of 300.
