COLUMBUS, Miss. – The board of directors has confirmed Nancy Luke Carpenter will continue to lead the Columbus-Lowndes Convention and Visitors Bureau (Visit Columbus) as CEO, while also directing activities of the Columbus Cultural Heritage Foundation. Carpenter received a one-year contract which will continue through September 30, 2023.
According to Liz Terry, board chairman, “We are delighted Nancy is continuing her dual role. She has done a wonderful job, and we are happy for Columbus and Lowndes County.”
Carpenter agrees, “It is a great time in Columbus, Miss. Visit Columbus and our Welcome Center teams are both excellent, and we look forward to continuing our work together. Visit Columbus is beginning the second restoration of the Tennessee Williams House Museum and Welcome Center which will include a statue garden, purchasing a new double-decker bus, continuing tourism partners meetings, and hosting the Arts ‘N Antiques Show and Sale, November 3 through 5.”
I was hoping you could share my information with Nancy Carpenter. My wife and I met her and Carol on our honeymoons back in 1981. A Caribbean cruise. I know you cannot share her contact information with me but if you could pass this on it would be appreciated. My name is Gus Wright and my wife is Diane. I reached out to her on Facebook and included an old photo of her and Carol. I’m confident she will remember us. Also, my number is 716-713-8211
