ATLANTA—The International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) has committed to remaining in Atlanta through 2036, extending the longstanding relationship between the city and the global poultry, meat, and animal food industry event, which dates to 1948.
The agreement was announced July 20 during a signing event at the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) headquarters in Atlanta. IPPE is produced through a collaboration among the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, the American Feed Industry Association, and the Meat Institute.
“U.S. Poultry & Egg Association has been a true champion of Atlanta for years, and its partnership with the American Feed Industry Association and the Meat Institute has only increased IPPE’s value and impact on our community,” says Charlene Lopez, executive vice president and chief sales officer of Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB). “We’re thrilled they’ve chosen to call Atlanta home through 2036, and we look forward to building on this relationship for years to come.”
The expo began as a 200-person convention at the Ansley Hotel and has been held in Atlanta since its 1948 founding. It also was the first convention hosted at Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) after the facility opened in 1976. Today, the annual event draws more than 32,500 participants from more than 115 countries and ranks among the nation’s 25 largest trade shows.
“The city of Atlanta has hosted our International Poultry Expo for 78 years. Since we have partnered with the American Feed Industry Association in 2007 and the Meat Institute in 2013, the integrated IPPE has become one of the largest annual business trade shows in the city and a top 25 in the United States,” says Nath Morris, president, USPOULTRY. “Today, we signed a letter of intent with ACVB to host our trade show in Atlanta through 2036. We look forward to the new developments in and around the GWCC campus to provide our exhibitors and attendees with more hotel, dining, and entertainment options and to enhance the reputation of Atlanta being a ‘great place to do business.’ We appreciate the partnership with ACVB, GWCC, and the hotel and dining communities, and want to continue calling Atlanta our home.”
The next IPPE is scheduled for Jan. 26-28, 2027, in Atlanta.
