WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Winston-Salem’s Benton Convention Center has reopened under the state’s phase 3 COVID-19 provisions.
Under the provisions, the center is restricted to 30 per cent of room capacity, or 100 people seated.
In addition to providing deep cleaning and enforcing social distancing measures, the center is hiring more housekeeping staff and purchased additional sanitizing equipment. Employees must undergo a daily wellness check and wear masks and gloves.
Other safety measures underway include adding 60 hand-sanitizing stations throughout the convention center; placing rope and barriers to encourage one-way traffic in public spaces; and placing numerous signs related to COVID-19 health and safety throughout the building.
The Benton Convention Center has 105,000 square feet of meeting space and offers more than 20 event room configurations including a ballroom, conference rooms, breakout rooms, and reception areas.
