“Events in Cleveland, Miss., feel rooted in something real,” says Lauren Powell, director of tourism for Visit Cleveland MS. “That feeling is everywhere here, whether you are hosting gatherings near the GRAMMY Museum Mississippi, or exploring nearby landmarks like Dockery Farms. We have a very welcoming community, where planners can create events that feel personal, not programmed.”

The Bolivar County Multipurpose Expo Complex includes a 3,350-seat arena and a 6,866-square-foot multi-use hall with a capacity of 500 guests banquet style or 700 theater style. The 1,200-seat Bologna Performing Arts Center at Delta State University is ideal for keynote addresses and presentations. Downtown’s historic Ellis Theatre offers a unique event setting with seating for more than 200. The GRAMMY Museum Mississippi provides distinctive spaces, including a 5,400-square-foot front porch, perfect for open-air receptions of up to 350.

Cleveland’s hotel landscape has seen several recent enhancements. Cotton House Cleveland recently introduced STAPLE, a new onsite restaurant, alongside refreshed interiors at its signature rooftop concept, Bar Fontaine. The hotel’s largest space can host events of up to 200 people. Lyric Hotel West End’s F&B services are now under local management, bringing Delta-inspired flavors to catered events. The hotel has more than 10,000 square feet of event space.

For local dining, Cleveland’s Lena Pizza & Bagels recently received big accolades from The New York Times. Airport Grocery remains a staple for traditional hot tamales. For teambuilding, groups can explore the birthplace of the blues at Dockery Farms or visit the Cleveland Train Museum. Event itineraries can also incorporate local signature events like 50 Nights of Lights, which illuminates downtown Cleveland with more than one million lights from November through New Year’s Day.
