Home to Mississippi University for Women and Columbus Air Force Base, Columbus offers a unique niche for planners seeking a destination that combines academic depth and small-town charm. With more than 100 antebellum homes and a vibrant downtown, Columbus also offers groups a picturesque backdrop that feels both stately and welcoming.

The recently renovated James M. Trotter Convention Center offers indoor and outdoor event space; its largest space accommodates 1,600 guests theater style. Plymouth Bluff Environmental Center, approximately 15 minutes from the convention center, has 20 guest rooms and almost 12,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 100-seat auditorium and an amphitheater for outdoor sessions.

Other hotels include the 110-room Courtyard by Marriott Columbus—now owned by Krish Hotel LLC and managed by Raines—which has approximately 3,375 square feet of event space and accommodates up to 220 people in its largest space; 99-room Hyatt Place Columbus-North, which has two small meeting rooms; the 85-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites Columbus North; and the 88-room Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus.

Groups can explore the Columbus Riverwalk or tour the historic Tennessee Williams Home and Welcome Center.
