Evansville CVB Hires New President and CEO

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – After a nationwide search, The Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau has hired a new president and CEO. James Wood, most recently the president and CEO of Meet AC and the Atlantic City Sports Commission, takes the reigns on Jan. 15.

Wood previously served as the president and CEO of the Louisville CVB for more than a decade and spent four years as the president and CEO of the Providence Warwick CVB in Rhode Island. He comes to Evansville with extensive managerial and sales experience in the Louisville, Providence, Atlantic City and Tampa markets, as well as with Marriott hotels.

Wood’s knowledge of events extends past hosting events, as he has also overseen the operations of destination businesses nationally, as well as in the Ohio River Valley.

“We were encouraged that through the national search process we were able to find someone with Jim’s experience and tenure in the industry,” said John Chaszar, the CVB’s commission president.
