FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The $1 billion expansion of the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center will begin a phased opening in October 2021.

The highly anticipated project, which is now underway, will feature 1.2 million square feet of space, including 350,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, and a new 65,000-square-foot waterfront ballroom. Advanced technology will be integrated throughout the property, which will feature original dining concepts, enhanced water-taxi access, and a brand-new expansive open-air waterfront plaza with multiple group event spaces. Plans also include an upscale headquarters hotel interconnected with the convention center.

Phase one with expanded exhibit space opens in October 2021 with full completion in 2024.
