GRAPEVINE, Texas—Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) leisure & international sales manager Tara Hippensteel was recognized at the 5th Annual Women in Tourism Awards luncheon in New York City for her contributions to tourism sales and destination marketing.
Hippensteel was among 18 tourism professionals honored during the May 12 event, produced by City Guide New York. The awards recognize women in the hospitality industry who, according to organizers, “encourage collaborations in the tourism industry.” City Guide also noted that “these individuals were celebrated for creating great visitor experiences.”
Hippensteel is a new addition to Grapevine CVB, having joined the organization in April. She has more than 25 years of experience in tourism and hospitality, with expertise in trade sales, destination marketing, revenue growth, and tourism development.
Before joining the bureau, Hippensteel served as a national tourism director, overseeing group tour sales for multiple U.S. destinations and Toronto. She also has more than 17 years of experience in sales, marketing, and tour and travel programs.
The Women in Tourism Awards honor professionals in the destination experience industry for leadership and collaboration in tourism and hospitality.
