SHREVEPORT, La. – Located adjacent to the Shreveport Convention Center, Hilton Shreveport has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation.
The project included an extensive redesign of the guest rooms, meeting spaces, lobby, rooftop pool, fitness center, and exterior. The hotel is managed by HRI Lodging and the design was led by Washington, D.C.-based 3877, with support from Benson & Falgout and Moline Construction.
“We are pleased to unveil the refreshed Hilton Shreveport to locals and visitors to the area,” says Marianne Nelson, general manager of Hilton Shreveport. “Our renewed property offers modern amenities that cater to the discerning needs of business travelers and groups gathering at the nearby convention center, while also providing an immersive experience for leisure travelers.”
Hilton Shreveport boasts four newly revamped meeting rooms to complement the Shreveport Convention Center’s 240,000+ square feet of event space. New touches include green abstract carpeting, chandelier light fixtures, and fresh wallpaper. An additional smaller meeting room was also added, allowing for group functions of up to seven people, along with new black and gold benches in the pre-function area. Updated audiovisual and monitors were also installed throughout the flexible rooms.
The property’s 311 guest rooms were brightened and refreshed with cream blackout draperies, light fixtures including bedside sconces and table lamps, and local artwork. In-room seating options provide a mix of lounge chairs, ottomans, and desk chairs covered in patterned grey, dark blue, and brown fabrics to complement existing carpeting and rich wood tones found throughout the rooms.
A warm, neutral color palette is seen throughout the property and complemented by rich colors including forest green, cobalt blue, and purple. The patterns and textures used throughout the hotel were selected to reflect Shreveport’s iconic elements such as the Long-Allen Bridge, the Red River, and the American Rose Center. Additional design elements include historic textiles and creative art installations such as vintage photos of the city’s past displayed at the bar. The exterior of the Hilton Shreveport was also revamped with fresh paint and upgraded signage, while an outdoor seating area was created to expand the hotel’s common spaces and allow for ample seating across the entire first floor of the property.
The reimagined lobby features a freestanding fireplace surrounded by green herringbone wall tile. Flanking the sides of the fireplace, lounge-style seating, including plush blue couches, chairs, and modern footstools, invites guests to linger in the spacious common area.
Overlooking the city skyline, the hotel’s rooftop features a new poolside mural created by Shreveport artist KaDavien Baylor, depicting various elements of the city’s rich culture and history, from a jazz musician to the Long-Allen Bridge and annual Red River Balloon Rally. The colorful mosaic offers a backdrop to the pool deck which features pergolas filled with new outdoor furniture and firepits, a waterfall feature alongside the side of the pool, and a small room with a roll-up glass door offset from the pool deck.
The hotel’s fitness center has also been upgraded with Precor, Peloton, and Hydroflow equipment and updated millwork, flooring, and wallcoverings.
The hotel offers three dining options, including Coffee Talk Cafe for coffee and pastries, 104 Market serving up classic American cuisine in a casual bistro setting, and River & Rye for dinner and drinks in a sports pub atmosphere.
