WAUKOMIS, Okla. – Buffalo Point Retreat is set for a July debut as a boutique event destination in Oklahoma.
A private estate since 2011, Buffalo Point will soon become accessible to the public for the first time. Featuring a space for weddings, meetings, and other private gatherings and retreats, Buffalo Point’s onsite lodging is a key selling point within the drive-to market.
A sprawling complex on more than seven acres of pastoral farmland, Buffalo Point is the years-long vision of owners Mo and Richard Anderson.
“Watching our dream of relaunching Buffalo Point become a reality has been nothing short of amazing and a true labor of love,” said Mo. “After years of enjoying this special place with our loved ones, Richard and I wanted to share it with others and offer a beautiful retreat for people to celebrate life’s special moments and milestones. After a year like 2020, there is a renewed appreciation for opportunities to come together with family, friends, and colleagues, and it is our hope that Buffalo Point will be a place where lasting memories are made.”
Weddings, corporate retreats, and other private retreats and gatherings will be a cornerstone of the Buffalo Point experience, with The Barn serving as the primary venue for up to 80 guests. An Amish-style structure built using traditional timber frame construction, this technique relies on craftsmanship, quality wood, and mortise and tenon joinery. The 3,600-square-foot space features a kitchen for catering, loft and lower seating areas that can be set up as breakout spaces, a wide-open main floor space that can be easily transformed for a number of different functions, and A/V capabilities. For smaller or more casual gatherings, guests can utilize the outdoor courtyard in the center of the property, complete with a fire pit, grill, gazebo, and custom stone fountain.
