AUSTIN, Texas – Pacific Hospitality Group has announced the renovation and “repositioning” of Hotel Granduca Austin.

Beginning on June 18, Hotel Granduca is undergoing a transformation with the addition of a new spa, complete overhaul of the signature restaurant and bar, renovated pool deck and lobby, and more. The hotel will remain in operation during the renovations, which are expected to be completed in early fall. The renovation design and construction is spearheaded by interior design firm Hotel Studio, McCabe Architecture, Digney York Associates, and PHG.

The 190,000-square-foot retreat sits on 38 acres and offers service with an authentic blend of Italian-inspired design and the relaxed, easy-going atmosphere Austin is known for.

“The renovations we bring to Hotel Granduca Austin will not only enhance the beautiful retreat that has served guests the past seven years but will also pay homage to the slow life and spirit of Italy,” said Hotel Granduca general manager David Putnicki. “We want the hotel to be an escape from the hustle and bustle of Austin, a retreat for guests from across the country, and a place for them to relax and recharge, if only for the day at our new spa or while enjoying a glass of wine and dinner at the restaurant. Once our renovations are complete, Hotel Granduca will give a sense of ‘la dolce vita’ for anyone visiting.”

As guests arrive at Hotel Granduca, they will be received in a renovated lobby with a “living room” lounging area and small boutique market featuring local goods and necessities. Hotel Granduca’s amenities will also extend with a pool deck redesign complete with fireplace and cabanas, in addition to the spa offering a relaxing retreat to give guests a more holistic stay. The spa will open on the second floor of the hotel with a menu including massages, facials, and more, and will feature amenities such as a relaxation lounge, men’s and women’s locker rooms complete with steam room, and sauna. The eight-treatment room facility will include a designated couple’s suite as well as a private spa suite complete with experiential shower and hydrotherapy tub.

The new restaurant will be an Italian-inspired gathering place offering fresh, crafted, and bright cuisine, cocktails, and a wine program. The interiors of the restaurant will reflect the property’s natural surroundings, with a preserved olive tree located in the center of the restaurant and greenery throughout the space. The restaurant’s patio will be a hilltop hangout, offering one of the best views in Austin to enjoy while dining.

“We have been so proud to add a Texas property to the Meritage Collection portfolio, and Hotel Granduca has been a perfect fit,” said Garrett Busch, president of capital markets, Pacific Hospitality Group. “The renovations at Hotel Granduca will continue to cement the resort’s status as one of the best in Austin. We look forward to having Austinites and visiting guests experience all of the updates and renovations this fall.”

Hotel Granduca features 194 rooms including 38 suites suitable for families with small kitchenettes and separate living room areas. The venue also continues to offer ample meeting space, including a newly designed chapel, perfect for weddings, conventions, and events.
