Hyatt Regency Dulles serves small groups through a crisis

DULLES, Va. – The Hyatt Regency Dulles, a hotel at Dulles International Airport with an IACC Conference Center, has remained open and has adapted to serve transient and small group guests throughout the past few months.

Jill Flynn, director of sales and marketing, said the staff has implemented a number of steps to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and colleagues.

“Our hotel has responded aggressively to the pandemic through increased measures for social distancing, strict sanitation and disinfection protocols, associate awareness, training, and various other methods to help keep meeting attendees’ safe and ensure planners have the best event possible,” she said.

Among the steps the property has taken in response to COVID-19 is increased frequency in deep-cleaning and disinfecting public areas, guestrooms, and facilities using hospital-grade disinfectants. Additionally, all hotel employees have completed enhanced COVID-19 prevention and preparedness training. All associates wear masks and gloves at all times.

Measures to ensure social distancing involve the check-in experience as well as food and beverage operations. Signage throughout the hotel reminds guests of important safety precautions and directs them to ways to minimize contact and maximize social distancing. Further, hand sanitizer is offered throughout the property.

Meeting rooms have been reconfigured to ensure at least six feet of physical distance between attendees, with more space available if required.

“We will work diligently with planners on event set up and delivery. This is a new world for all of us, and attendees may not be comfortable or accustomed to working and collaborating in a modified way,” Flynn said. “Our associates are trained to assist, and we can provide planners additional resources.”
