On Tennessee Music Highway, at the mid-point between Nashville and Memphis, Jackson provides planners a city of culture and history, with easy access to everything in west Tennessee, says Beth Bolton, group sales director for Visit Jackson. “Jackson is a vibrant, growing city with unique attractions and facilities, including Rockabilly Stadium, Casey Jones Village and Railroad Museum, Legends of Tennessee Music Museum, and Rusty’s TV and Movie Car Museum, with more than 50 iconic cars, trucks, motorcycles, and fun props.” Casey Jones Village has indoor and outdoor event space, and Legends of Tennessee Music Museum has a 70-seat theater.
With six colleges and universities in the area, Jackson offers “authentic cultural opportunities, vibrant nightlife, a unique dining scene, and a revitalized downtown,” Bolton says.
There are 2,900 guest rooms in the city. Primary event facilities include the 167-room DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jackson, with 6,230 square feet of function space; 98-room Hilton Garden Inn Jackson, with space to seat 100 theater style; Madison Downs, offering the 5,000-square-foot Hamilton Hall and a 3,000-square-foot pavilion; 2,220-seat Carl Perkins Civic Center auditorium; and Jackson Fairgrounds Park, with 25,000 square feet of indoor event space and two covered outdoor venues. In addition, Hub City Brewery has event space to host 650 people; Jackson’s Kitchen has space for 80 guests for evening events; The Ned, a cultural arts center, has a 420-seat theater and gallery event space; and New Southern Hotel performance and event venue can accommodate 300 guests.
