FORT MYERS, Fla. – A recent survey of CVB officials, including those in the South, shows a growing optimism that the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic is in the rear view mirror.
Between April 17 and 23, MMGY Travel Intelligence and Destinations International Foundation surveyed North American destination organizations.
In latest survey, 40 percent of respondents said they expect their local economy to worsen in the next 30 days, a decrease from 72 percent in the previous document released on April 6.
Those surveyed also indicated they are receiving fewer daily inquires related to COVID-19.
The survey has revealed 73 percent of respondents plan on shifting from informational campaigns to promotional campaigns within the next two months.
More than 40 percent of those surveyed are located in the southern U.S.
