Branson’s Virgin Hotels Opens Dallas Location in Booming Design District

DALLAS, Tex. – Nearly a decade after billionaire entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson said his new Virgin Hotels venture would shake up the hospitality industry’s lifestyle brands, only three have officially opened.

The third is the newest hotel in Dallas, located in the booming Dallas Design District, and offering more than 15,500-square-feet of versatile indoor and outdoor event space.

The reported $120-million, 16-storey hotel also features 268 ‘chambers,’ Virgin’s version of ‘rooms,’ and other unique amenities that have become fixtures with the Virgin brand.

There are penthouse suites, a fourth-floor rooftop terrace with pool that overlooks the Dallas skyline, as well as multiple dining and drinking outlets to round out the “fun and sexy” Virgin experience.

“I’ve always had so much fun visiting Dallas, so I’m thrilled that Virgin will have a home in this exciting city,” said Branson, founder of the Virgin Group. “Our hotel in the Dallas Design District will have all the signature features of a Virgin hotel, including the Commons Club, our beautiful chambers and my personal favorite, the Yes button. But I think I’m most excited to take a dip in our wonderful rooftop pool.”

There are three dining and drinking options at Virgin Hotels Dallas: Commons Club, Funny Library Coffee Shop and The Pool Club.

Commons Club includes The Kitchen, headed up by celebrated chef Matt McCallister. There’s also a Secret Garden, which hides a hot tub, a hanging chair and an exclusive bar.

The hotel was built in partnership with Dallas developer Bill Hutchinson and Branson’s company.

“It will be the heartbeat of the hottest entertainment district and the biggest jewel in our crown,” said Hutchinson, president and CEO of Dunhill Partners and owner of Virgin Hotels Dallas.
