JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Visit Jacksonville recently launched Big Ideas Need Big Spaces, an incentive program designed for qualifying meetings and conferences taking place in Duval County to encourage more meetings in 2022.
According to a quarterly report from Knowland, provider of data insights on meetings and events for hospitality, 58.3 percent of meetings volume will be recovered by the end of 2022. By August 2023, individual months will recover to 2019 levels.
“Meeting and conference travel is showing signs of life,” said Michael Corrigan, president & CEO of Visit Jacksonville. “With the incentive program, our goal is to encourage groups to return to meeting in person and come to Jacksonville to enjoy the hospitality of our city.”
The incentive amount ranges from $500 for 50-75 actualized rooms to $5,000 for more than 251 actualized rooms. Qualifying meetings and conferences are eligible to receive the incentive payment towards their group booking at a Duval County hotel.
Eligibility is based on the meeting taking place in 2022 as new business, not an already negotiated or existing contract, and must be booked by September 30, 2022. If a multi-year meeting is booked, with the first meeting actualizing in 2022, the incentive payment will apply to each of the years booked.
Additionally, groups who book for three or more years are eligible for additional incentives as part of Visit Jacksonville’s Meet. Repeat. Reward. multi-year booking bonus offer. Those eligible can select from a list of concessions including onsite registration assistance, two individual round trip airport transfers, and VIP welcome amenities.
