Downtown San Antonio Hyatt hotels hire Michael Balyeat as director of sales and marketing

Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk and Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk announced Michael Balyeat as director of sales and marketing. Balyeat previously worked with the downtown San Antonio hotels, from 2012 to 2014. In his return, he will oversee all sales and marketing programs for the properties and implement strategies to increase brand awareness.

Independent hotel brand Arlo Hotels officially opens Arlo Washington DC, a 12-story lifestyle hotel, on November 18. The building is a conversion of the 1888 Harrison Apartments, the district’s oldest surviving apartment located in the heart of downtown D.C., plus the 12-story addition.

Virginia’s first Hard Rock Hotel opens in Bristol

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol celebrated its grand opening on November 14 with Hard Rock’s guitar smash ceremony. Hard Rock executives and partners, state and local officials, local community members, and business and civic leaders attended the ceremony. Following the celebration, the casino officially opened its doors to the public at noon.

Dollywood named America’s Best Theme Park Customer Service by Newsweek

Newsweek named Dollywood Parks & Resorts as the country’s best theme park for customer service. The award is based on an independent survey of more than 28,000 U.S. customers. These participants have either made purchases, used services, or gathered information about products or services in the last three years.
