MeetingPlay recently announced the launch of the next generation of its mobile app and event engagement platform. MeetingPlay’s new Gen 4 elements include:
Augmented Reality (AR): MeetingPlay combined AR with gamification at Marriott’s CPC to educate attendees about Marriott’s 30 brands and create brand ambassadors following the Marriott / Starwood merger. MeetingPlay created designated AR tokens spread throughout the event and attendees were prompted to hover their app over it until a virtual image appeared. Each image provided a clue about a single brand to educate attendees through a distinct game and leaderboard.
Artificial Intelligence (AI): Upon first opening the meeting app, attendees answer questions about their interests and goals. Similar to Netflix, the app then curates content that is relevant, suggesting sessions and speaker series. The system continues to learn from the attendee and produce content. Through this matchmaking algorithm, attendees have access to everything that’s important to them.
Chatbots: The key is to give meeting planners and attendees information efficiently. Chatbots represent the next generation of collecting information and the MeetingPlay version uses voice and text commands. Attendees can ask the app questions such as “Where is the general session?” and “What time does dinner start tonight?” to get a quick answer.
