FRISCO, Tex. – Construction has begun on the Omni PGA Frisco Resort, a partnership between the City of Frisco and PGA of America set to open in spring 2023. As a $500 million investment into the City of Frisco, Omni PGA Frisco Resort is the largest resort currently in development in the United States.
Frisco is also the new home of the PGA of America headquarters.
“Today marks an exciting new chapter for Omni Hotels & Resorts as we break ground on our first resort to be built from the ground up,” said Omni Hotels & Resorts president Peter Strebel. “We’re honored to be able to celebrate this momentous occasion in our home state of Texas and to build the Omni brand’s flagship resort in the City of Frisco. Omni Hotels & Resorts exists to provide guests authentically local experiences, and this stunning resort will certainly create a lasting legacy for golf enthusiasts, families, and groups for generations to come.”
The resort will feature 127,000 square feet of indoor, outdoor, and event space, 501 guest rooms, and seven private golf villas, each with views of two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by Beau Welling and Gil Hanse.
Event and meeting spaces include a ballroom, junior ballroom, and dedicated spaces with exclusive event lawns and pre-function spaces overlooking the golf courses. The Panther Creek Pavilion stands apart from the resort for privacy, with an indoor-outdoor concept for meetings, weddings, and special events.
It will also offer 12 dining outlets, three pools—including an adults-only rooftop pool—and a destination spa. A nearby expansive retail and entertainment district will feature dining, shopping, and an outdoor stage for concerts and other programming.
