Lake County offers a refreshing take on central Florida and surprises people in the best way, according to Ryan Ritchie, director of Discover Lake County Florida. “We’re just 30 minutes from Orlando, but worlds away—with historic downtowns of Mount Dora, Tavares, and Eustis, rolling hills, and more than 1,000 lakes,” Ritchie says. “It’s a place where natural beauty and authentic Florida experiences take center stage, creating a setting that feels both relaxed and distinctive.”
There are approximately 3,000 guest rooms in the county. Mission Resort + Club has 176 guest rooms, 30,000 square feet of event space, two award-winning golf courses, three restaurants, and a spa. The boutique hotel Citrus on the Lake has a new rooftop venue (the county’s only rooftop bar). Historic Howey Mansion hosts retreats and social gatherings, with an indoor ballroom seating 80 guests or up to 1,000 when combined with an outdoor tent.
