VisitSavannah.com; @VisitSavannah—The 300,000-square-foot Savannah Convention Center complex sits on Hutchinson Island, across the Savannah River from the city’s historic downtown. Its components include 100,000 square feet of divisible exhibit space, a 367-seat auditorium, and 50,000 square feet of event space across 13 rooms, and a 25,000-square-foot ballroom. The convention center is currently wrapping up a $276 million renovation and expansion, which will double its exhibit hall space and will add a 40,000-square-foot ballroom and more than 30 new breakout rooms. Local CVB representatives anticipate the new addition will open in the first quarter of 2025.
The 9,500-seat Enmarket Arena contains approximately 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, including club and meeting rooms, outdoor terraces, and other spaces. The multipurpose Savannah Civic Center boasts a 20,000-square-foot, 9,000-capacity arena and a 2,524-capacity theater. Other features include a grand ballroom and 3,000 square feet of meeting space, with each area holding up to 400 guests.
For uniquely Savannah venues, Charles H. Morris Center at Trustees’ Garden is an elegant multiuse event space located on the site of an 18th-century garden. It features a 3,600-square-foot main ballroom with a seating capacity of 300, along with a stage, lighting, and state-of-the-art sound. An attached outdoor tent offers an additional 2,400 square feet of covered space. Three venues make up the Telfair Museums: Telfair Academy, the South’s oldest public art museum, has spaces for a capacity of 150 people; Jepson Center for the Arts features a 200-seat auditorium; and the English regency-style Owens-Thomas House boasts an elegant parterre garden for up to 100 guests.
Hotels with event space include the 403-room Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, which boasts more than 29,000 square feet of meeting space and accommodates up to 8,400 for banquets in its largest space. Marriott Savannah Riverfront has 387 guest rooms and 40,353 square feet of event space, including 23 event rooms and 19 breakout rooms. Marriott Savannah Riverfront’s largest space, a 14,863-square-foot ballroom, fits a capacity of 1,600 for receptions. The 351-room Hyatt Regency Savannah has 33,000 square feet of event space across 20 meeting rooms and can host 1,300 people in its largest space.
