Charlotte, N.C. — A new travel software company called Stayker aims to reduce financial risk for event planners by sidestepping some of the back-and-forth required when they are booking and negotiating rooms.
Stayker was launched by Talley Richey and Amy Barker, who have been working in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years. They have seen many of the booking issues first-hand.
Based out of Charlotte, N.C., the startup connects planners to a network of hotels and gives them a commission rebate afterwards, adding an element of security to the process.
With Stayker, planners have access to more than 650,000 hotels worldwide within minutes. Hotel reservations are booked through a GDS-based live online inventory model. No attrition fees. No cut-off dates.
