Earlier this year, the area’s premier event venue, James H. Rainwater Conference Center, unveiled nearly $1 million in renovations. The venue has approximately 45,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, including an 11,000-square-foot grand hall for up to 650 people seated banquet style. Other features include a 4,300-square-foot veranda to host 650 for banquets and two conference room suites for more than 160 people.
Local hotel accommodations include the 163-room Hilton Garden Inn Valdosta, featuring 3,014 square feet of event space for receptions of up to 196 people. Holiday Inn Valdosta Conference Center has a divisible 2,100-square-foot ballroom, which connects to a 1,200-square-foot pre-function area and can host 180 guests. Fairfield Inn & Suites Valdosta has 1,500 square feet of event space in one room and can accommodate up to 100 guests. The McKey, Valdosta’s first boutique hotel, opened last year in a restored 1906 building; it features 12 luxury accommodations and a 2,000-square-foot event space for up to 150 people.
