ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. – Inspired by the sweetgrass that is indigenous to the South Carolina coast, Sweetgrass Inn is a newly built hotel located on four acres of the coastal Wild Dunes resort. The inn is nestled among the dunes of Charleston’s barrier island, Isle of Palms.
With the addition of 30,000 square feet of event space, Wild Dunes Resort is now able to host groups of up to 650 people. Sweetgrass Inn’s Indigo Room & Rooftop offers a 3,000-square-foot ballroom and 6,000-square-foot terrace for formal events and weddings. The 8,000-square-foot Osprey Ballroom & Terrace can host multi-function events of up to 800. Adjacent to the Osprey Ballroom, the 570-square-foot Avocet Boardroom provides a more intimate space for meetings or private events.
Sweetgrass Inn features 153 guest rooms and suites, a spa, two dining outlets, and an expansive pool deck, in addition to access to Wild Dunes Resort’s golf courses, tennis club, and white sand beaches.
“We believe Sweetgrass Inn resonates with today’s traveler seeking a warm sense of belonging
through connections to our unique Lowcountry culture,” said Robb Walker, managing director at Wild Dunes Resort. “When families visit Wild Dunes Resort, they have the opportunity to create a tradition. We are fortunate to welcome generations of families that have been coming year after year and have fallen in love with the history and beauty of the Lowcountry.
“The growth of our resort experience continues this tradition, and the opening and addition of Sweetgrass Inn as a distinct, true-to-place resort is certain to serve as the backdrop for countless family memories.”
Developed by longtime Wild Dunes managing partner Lowe and partner Dart Interests, Sweetgrass Inn offers views of the Atlantic Ocean, Lowcountry marshes, and Charleston city skyline.
