Destin-Fort Walton Beach offers unique excursions, including a chance for divers to explore the world’s largest artificial reef: the SS United States, a 990-foot ship scheduled to be sunk in the Gulf of Mexico in spring 2026, according to DestinFWB.com.
“Our destination is very versatile,” says Aline Ibanes, chief sales manager for Destin-Fort Walton Beach CVB. “We have beachfront hotels, rustic barns, a convention center, and even an equestrian arena. We also have the best and freshest seafood, with restaurants that have their own boats to bring the best fish to the table.”
The Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center has 32,000 square feet of multipurpose space, including a ballroom seating 2,350 people theater style. The 30,000-square-foot Bayview Plaza and a separate terrace offer additional event options.
Newly opened, The Northend is a new event venue with indoor and outdoor spaces to accommodate up to 200 guests.
Four Points by Sheraton Destin-Fort Walton Beach has 3,780 square feet of function space; the 152-room Holiday Inn Resort Fort Walton Beach has meeting space to accommodate 250 guests; and the 178-room Hilton Garden Inn Fort Walton Beach has a 5,000-square-foot conference center.
Emerald Grande at Harborwalk Village offers one- to four-bedroom condo units and a variety of meeting spaces, including the Grande Ballroom, which accommodates up to 180 guests, and a 25-person-capacity yacht. Henderson Beach Resort has nearly 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space. The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach has 24,000 square feet of event space to accommodate groups of up to 400 people.
